The Dealer

  While playing a game of poker there are many people that you must deal with on a regular basis. In addition to yourself, you will also have to keep a close eye on your competition. After all, they are the only ones in between you and the jackpot at the end of the hand. But there is one other person that you may also be forgetting about. Do you know who that is? The dealer is also a very important part of any poker game. This is not so much true when you play online poker, but when you play at a table a dealer is an essential part of the game. When it comes down to it, the dealer will control the game and watch over the entire table.   If you are playing poker with your friends at your home you will not have to worry about having a designated dealer. Instead, the players at the table can take turns doing this. But if you are playing at a land based or online casino things are a bit different. You will never have to worry about dealing the cards on your own because there is a dealer who will do nothing but this. You may even begin to forget that the dealer is sitting at the table if you are indulged in your cards; and there is nothing wrong with this because the dealer has nothing to do with you or your competition.   So what does the dealer do during the game of poker? For the most part they are in charge of dealing the cards to the players at the table. This is why they are called “dealers.” Before every game gets underway the dealer will shuffle the deck, or use an entirely new one depending on the game. They will then proceed to deal the cards based on the type of game that is being played. From there they simply back off and allow the players to do their own things.   If a player needs new cards the dealer will be responsible for giving them out. This is an important task that the dealer must take seriously during each hand. After all, without this step the game of poker would not really be the same.   When it comes down to it a dealer is responsible for knowing the table, the cards, and what is going on. While they are not nearly as important as the players, the dealer does have a special place at the head of the table.   Overall, the dealer is an important person in the game of poker. This holds true no matter if you are playing online or off, and no matter whom your competition is. Make sure that as a player you respect the dealer, and allow them to do their job. This way everybody at the table will have a good time.
